Addas was a young Christian slave from Nineveh who lived in Makkah. He is famous for being the only person to respond with kindness to the Prophet (PBUH) during the tragic visit to Ta'if. After the Prophet was pelted with stones, he rested in an orchard where Addas brought him grapes. Upon hearing the Prophet say "Bismillah" and mention the Prophet Yunus (AS), Addas recognized the Prophetic mission and kissed the Prophet’s hands and feet. His story is a touching example of "Hidayah" (guidance) arriving in the darkest of moments and the "Rahmah" (mercy) that the Prophetic message brings to "Ahlu-Kitab" (People of the Book).
