Habba al-Sawda

الحبة السوداء
Text Size:
Habba al-Sawda, or "Black Seed" (Nigella sativa), is highly revered in Islamic tradition due to a famous Hadith where the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "In the black seed is a healing for every disease except death." It has been used for centuries in Muslim cultures as a natural remedy for respiratory issues, digestive problems, and immune support. Modern scientific research has identified its active compound, Thymoquinone, which has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. For many Muslims, using Habba al-Sawda is an act of "Tibb al-Nabawi" (Prophetic Medicine), combining physical healing with the blessing (Barakah) of following a Sunnah.
