Ya'Juj Wa Ma'Juj

Ya’Juj wa Ma’Juj (Gog and Magog) are two powerful and numerous tribes mentioned in the Quran and Hadith whose emergence is a major sign of the approach of the Day of Judgment (Yawm al-Qiyamah). According to Surah Al-Kahf (18:94-98), these tribes were imprisoned behind a massive barrier made of iron and copper by the righteous ruler Dhul-Qarnayn to protect humanity from their widespread corruption (Fasad). Their eventual release, as described in Surah Al-Anbiya (21:96), will be a time of unprecedented global trial, where they will swarm across the earth "from every elevation," representing a peak of chaos and a definitive trial of faith for the Ummah. This event is a primary sign of the end of time, reflecting the Nur (light) of prophetic warnings and the absolute necessity of spiritual preparation.

Theologically, the narrative of Ya’Juj wa Ma’Juj is a manifestation of the principle of Divine Decree (Qadar) and the ultimate victory of truth over falsehood. It reflects the Hikmah (wisdom) of a tradition that provides the believers with the knowledge of future trials to strengthen their Sabr (patience) and Tawakkul (trust in God). The inability of any human force to stop these tribes highlights the absolute power of Allah (SWT) and the dependence of humanity on Divine intervention. The eventual destruction of Ya’Juj wa Ma’Juj by Allah after the return of Isa (AS) serves as a Burhan (proof) of the inevitable defeat of tyranny and the restoration of Adl (justice) to the world.
