Al-Marwa is one of the two "Small Mountains" (along with Al-Safa) near the Ka'bah in Makkah. Performing "Sa'i" (walking/running) seven times between Safa and Marwa is a mandatory ritual of "Hajj" and "Umrah." It commemorates the "Sabr" (patience) and "Tawakkul" (trust) of Hajar (AS), the mother of Isma'il (AS), as she searched for water for her child. For the pilgrim, Sa'i is a physical act of "Dua"-a reminder that while we must "strive" (Sa'i) in the "Dunya," the ultimate "Nasr" (victory) and provision ("Zamzam") come only from Allah.
