Tawakkaltu Alallah

توكلت على الله
Text Size:
Tawakkultu Alallah is a phrase meaning "I have placed my trust in Allah." It is the verbal expression of "Tawakkul." The Prophet (PBUH) taught that one should say this when leaving their home: "Bismillahi, tawakkultu alallah..." (In the name of Allah, I have placed my trust in Allah). This act of "Istia'dhah" (seeking refuge) protects the believer from harm and misguidance during their journey. It represents a balanced approach to life: performing one's duties and then leaving the final outcome to the divine wisdom, which provides a sense of calm and security.
