Nafkh al-Sur refers to the "Blowing of the Trumpet" by the Angel Israfil, which will signal the end of the world and the beginning of the Day of Judgment. According to the Quran, there will be two (or three) blasts: the first will cause everyone to fall unconscious or perish, and the universe to be transformed; the second will cause all of humanity to be resurrected and gathered before their Lord. It is a moment of ultimate terror for the disbeliever and a moment of awesome reality for the believer.
