Niyyah is "Intention." In Islam, the value of every action is determined by the Niyyah behind it. The Prophet (PBUH) said: "Actions are but by intentions." A Niyyah is not just a verbal statement, but a firm "Qasd" (resolve) in the heart to do something for the sake of Allah. A good Niyyah can turn an ordinary habit (like eating or sleeping) into "Ibadah" (worship), while a bad Niyyah (like "Riya" or showing off) can ruin a good deed. Guarding one’s Niyyah is the foundation of "Ikhlas" (sincerity) and the first step toward spiritual "Falah" (success).
