Ahtiyat means "Caution" or "Precaution." In "Fiqh" (jurisprudence), it refers to a ruling where a scholar advises a certain action to ensure one stays safely within the "Hudud" (boundaries) of the Shariah when there is a doubt. This is based on the Prophetic "Hadith": "Leave that which makes you doubt for that which does not." Practicing "Ahtiyat" in matters of "Halal" and "Haram" is a sign of "Wara" (piety). It protects the "Din" of the believer from accidental violations, ensuring that their "Ibadah" (worship) and wealth remain pure and "Tayyib" (wholesome) in the sight of Allah.
