Al-Mu'izz (The Bestower of Honor) is the Name of Allah signifying that He is the One who grants "Izzah" (honor) and status to whomever He wills, usually through "Iman" and "Taqwa." This attribute is paired with "Al-Mudhill" (The Humiliator). For the "Ummah," this Name is a source of spiritual pride; it teaches us that true honor is not found in wealth or lineage but in "Ubudiyyah" (servitude) to Allah. It encourages the believer to seek dignity only through the path of "Haqq" (truth), knowing that Al-Mu'izz is the only source of lasting respect. The Name Al-Mu'izz appears in the Quran: "Say, O Allah, Master of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and take sovereignty from whom You will; You honor (tu'izzu) whom You will and humiliate (tudhillu) whom You will" (3:26). This verse establishes that all honor comes from Allah. Understanding Al-Mu'izz transforms how believers seek honor. They do not chase status from people, wealth, or power, knowing that true honor is from Allah. The Prophet said: "Whoever seeks honor, then to Allah belongs all honor" (35:10). Al-Mu'izz also gives dignity to the believer. When they feel lowly, oppressed, or overlooked, they know that Al-Mu'izz can bestow honor. The believer's honor is in their faith, not in worldly status. The Prophet said: "The Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand Muslims are safe" (Bukhari). This is the honor of being a believer. The Name also calls believers to honor others. They should respect all people, especially the believers, and treat them with dignity. The Prophet said: "None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself" (Bukhari). The ultimate honor is in Paradise, where Al-Mu'izz will bestow the highest honor, the vision of His face. The believer lives for that honor, seeking the dignity that comes from being a servant of Al-Mu'izz, and honoring others as they hope to be honored by their Lord.
