كلمة التوحيد
Text Size:
The Fourth Kalima (Kalimat at-Tauheed) is a declaration of the Oneness of Allah that emphasizes His absolute uniqueness and the believer's total reliance upon Him. It is expressed as: "La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu, yuhyi wa yumitu, wa huwa hayyun la yamutu, biyadihil khayr, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir" (There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, alone, without partner. His is the sovereignty, and His is the praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is the Living who never dies. In His hand is all good, and He has power over all things). This represents the peak of Islamic spiritual Itqan (perfection) and the Nur (light) of a faith that centers on the absolute sovereignty of the Creator. The Fourth Kalima serves as a definitive Hujjah (proof) of the comprehensive nature of Tawhid, providing the Ummah with a concise formula for affirming the Oneness and Lordship of Allah for the pleasure of their Lord.

Theologically, the declaration of Tawhid is a manifestation of the principle of Divine Sovereignty and the Hikmah (wisdom) of Divine law in the guidance of humanity. It reflects the Nur of a faith that views the affirmation of Allah's absolute uniqueness as a primary means of attaining Basirah (spiritual insight) and the purification of the heart. The phrases of the Tauheed, encompassing the denial of partners, the affirmation of sovereignty, the declaration of Divine power over life and death, serve as a Burhan (proof) of the intellectual and moral vitality of the Islamic tradition. This history reflects the Mizan (balance) between the transcendence of Allah and His nearness to His creation. Historically, the recitation of the Fourth Kalima has provided the Ummah with the moral resilience and the social stability needed to maintain their understanding of Tawhid. It underscores the absolute duty of every believer to affirm the Oneness of Allah and to be a witness to humanity through the power of integrity and radiant achievement.

For the modern Ummah, the legacy of the Fourth Kalima is a source of immense pride and a roadmap for contemporary spiritual and personal reform. It teaches the believers the value of affirmation, the beauty of unshakeable faith, and the importance of maintaining an ethical and honest relationship with the core of their belief. In a modern world often characterized by polytheistic tendencies and the fragmentation of devotion, the tradition of "The Declaration of Oneness" provides a roadmap for internal peace and clarity. It encourages a culture of Ihsan (excellence) and communal responsibility.
