Hospitality (Diyafa) is a foundational value in Islamic culture, rooted in the example of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the tradition of Ibrahim (AS). The Quran praises the hospitality of Ibrahim (AS) to his angelic guests, and the Prophet (PBUH) emphasized that honoring guests is a sign of faith. Hospitality represents the peak of Islamic social Itqan (perfection) and the Nur (light) of a faith that values generosity, kindness, and the care of others. It serves as a definitive Hujjah (proof) of the comprehensive nature of Islamic ethics, providing the Ummah with the Sakina (tranquility) and the guidance needed to cultivate generosity for the pleasure of their Lord.
