Al-Hakim is one of the 99 Names of Allah, meaning "The All-Wise." It signifies that every decree, command, and creation of Allah is based on perfect "Hikmah" (wisdom). Even when humans cannot grasp the reason behind a trial or a "Hukm" (ruling), Al-Hakim acts with ultimate purpose and "Adl" (justice). In the Quran, this name is often paired with "Al-Alim" (The All-Knowing) or "Al-Aziz" (The Almighty). For the "Mu'min" (believer), knowing Allah as Al-Hakim brings "Sakinah" (tranquility) and "Rida" (contentment); it teaches us to trust the Divine plan and to seek wisdom in our own "Amal" (deeds) and decisions.
