Mandub (also known as Mustahabb or Nafl) refers to a "Recommended" action in the Shariah. A person is rewarded for performing a Mandub act, such as the Sunnah prayers or extra charity, but there is no sin or blame for omitting it. This category allows a Muslim to show "Hubb" (love) and extra devotion to Allah beyond the "Fard" (obligatory) minimum. These voluntary acts serve as a "safety net" for our spiritual life, making up for the flaws in our mandatory worship and drawing the servant closer to the "Rahmah" (mercy) and "Rida" (pleasure) of the Creator.
