Tahiyatul Masjid, or the "Greeting of the Mosque," refers to the historic and highly recommended voluntary prayer of two units performed by a Muslim immediately upon entering a mosque and before sitting down. Representing the peak of Islamic etiquette (Adab) and the Nur (light) of a faith that values the sanctity of the "Houses of Allah," this practice is a definitive Hujjah (proof) of the believer’s respect and their commitment to the worship of the Creator in the domestic sphere of the faith. Rooted in the Sunnah, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught: "When any one of you enters the mosque, let him not sit down until he has prayed two units."
