Ibn al-Haytham (965–1040 CE), known in the West as Alhazen, refers to the historic and foundational Muslim polymath and physicist who represents the peak of early Islamic scientific Itqan (perfection) and intellectual Izzah (honor). Often called the "Father of Modern Optics," his monumental work "Kitab al-Manazir" (The Book of Optics) established the modern scientific method and the experimental study of light, providing the Nur (light) and the intellectual vigor of a civilization that seeks to understand the laws of nature within the framework of Divine order.
