The Donkey and Books (Al-Himaru Yahmilu Asfara) is a powerful Quranic parable mentioned in Surah Al-Jumu’ah (62:5), where Allah compares those who were entrusted with the Torah but failed to uphold it to a donkey carrying a heavy load of books. This metaphor represents the peak of Quranic rhetorical Itqan (perfection) and the Nur (light) of a faith that emphasizes the importance of embodying knowledge through righteous action.
