Al-Azhar, located in Cairo, Egypt, is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions of Islamic learning in the world. Founded during the Fatimid era and later becoming a bastion of "Sunni" scholarship, it has trained thousands of "Ulama" in "Fiqh," "Hadith," and "Tafsir." It is known for its "Wasatiyyah" (moderation) and its role in issuing "Fatwas" that guide the global "Ummah." For Muslims, Al-Azhar represents the intellectual "Izzah" (honor) of the faith and the continuity of the "Silsila" (chain) of knowledge, bridging traditional "Ilm" with the challenges of the modern world.
