I'Jaz Al-Quran

إعجاز القرآن
Text Size:
I'Jaz Al-Quran is the theological and linguistic concept of the "Inimitability" or "Miraculous nature" of the Quran. It is the belief that the Quran is a unique and divine masterpiece that no human being or jinn, regardless of their eloquence, knowledge, or effort, could ever produce anything similar to it. This concept is rooted in the "Tahaddi" (Challenge) verses of the Quran, where Allah (SWT) dares the doubters to produce ten chapters, or even a single chapter, like it. For over fourteen centuries, this challenge has remained unanswered, serving as the definitive "Mu'jizah" (miracle) and proof of the prophethood of Muhammad (PBUH).

Theologically, I'Jaz is manifested in several dimensions. First is the "Linguistic I'jaz",the extraordinary eloquence, rhythm, and word choice that surpassed the highest standards of the most accomplished Arab poets of the 7th century. Second is the "Scientific and Historical I'jaz",the inclusion of accurate information about the past and the natural world that was unknown to humanity at the time of revelation. Third is the "Thematic and Legal I'jaz",the perfect consistency, wisdom, and comprehensiveness of its guidance that remains applicable across all times and cultures. Unlike the miracles of previous Prophets, which were physical and limited to their time, the I'Jaz Al-Quran is an intellectual and spiritual miracle that is "Everlasting," available for every generation to witness and ponder. It proves that the Quran is the literal "Kalamullah" (Speech of Allah).

For the Ummah, I'Jaz Al-Quran is the foundation of "Yaqin" (certainty) in the faith. It provides the believer with the intellectual confidence that their guidance is from the Divine source. The study of I'Jaz is a vital field in Islamic scholarship, encouraging a deep, analytical engagement with the text. It teaches the believer that the Quran is a "Furqan" (criterion) that can withstand any scrutiny. By acknowledging the miraculous nature of the Quran, the Muslim community remains humble before the infinite Wisdom of Allah, striving to align their lives with a book that is as perfect in its form as it is in its message. I'Jaz Al-Quran remains a "Nur" (light) that continues to inspire awe and devotion, guiding the believer toward the ultimate success through the power of the Divine Word.
