Yawm al-Muallim, or the "Day of the Teacher," refers to the historic and foundational Islamic reverence for the educator and the scholar (Alim). Rooted in the prophetic mission,as the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stated, "I was only sent as a teacher",this concept represents the peak of intellectual Itqan (perfection) and the Nur (light) of a faith that views the transmission of knowledge as a primary act of worship. Yawm al-Muallim is a definitive Hujjah (proof) of the high status and the authoritative leadership of those who preserve the Truth and the values of the Quran, providing the Ummah with the Sakina (tranquility) and the guidance needed for spiritual and material success for the pleasure of their Lord.
Theologically, the role of the teacher is a manifestation of the principle of "Ilm" (knowledge) and the Hikmah (wisdom) of Divine law in the guidance of humanity. It reflects the Nur of a faith that views the scholar as the "heir of the prophets."
