A'War Al-Dajjal

أعور الدجال
Text Size:
A’war al-Dajjal refers to one of the most distinctive physical descriptions of the False Messiah provided in the prophetic Hadith: that he is "one-eyed" (A’war). The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized that while the Dajjal has this physical defect, "your Lord is not one-eyed," a statement that represents a peak of theological clarity and a definitive Hujjah (proof) of the perfection of Allah (SWT) against the flawed and deceptive nature of the Dajjal. This description serves as a primary tool for the Ummah to recognize the arch-deceiver, reflecting the Nur (light) and the precision of the Sunnah in protecting the believers from the ultimate spiritual deception. The "blindness" in one eye is also interpreted symbolically as a lack of spiritual vision or a distorted perspective that only sees the material world.

Theologically, the description of the A’war Dajjal is a manifestation of the principle of Tawhid (oneness) and the absolute distinction between the Creator and the creation. It reflects the Hikmah (wisdom) of a tradition that uses physical markers to teach profound spiritual truths. The Dajjal’s one-eyed nature symbolizes his inability to see the Mizan (balance) of reality,he is fixated on the physical and the deceptive while remaining blind to the spiritual and the eternal. This history serves as a Burhan (proof) that falsehood always contains inherent defects that can be identified by those who possess Basirah (spiritual insight). It emphasizes the absolute Amanah (trust) of the believer to guard their faith against the allure of material power and deceptive miracles. Historically, this description has provided the Ummah with the Sakina (tranquility) and the Yaqin (certainty) needed to remain steadfast in their worship of the One Perfect God.

For the Ummah, the description of the A’war Dajjal is a source of intellectual and spiritual strength. It teaches the believers the value of discernment, the importance of inner vision, and the absolute necessity of basing their faith on the revealed Truth rather than outward appearances. In a modern world of visual manipulation and superficiality, the legacy of this prophetic warning provides a roadmap for the pursuit of depth and integrity. It encourages a culture of Tazkiyah (purification) and communal unity. By honoring the clarity of the Hadith, the Muslim community strengthens its identity and its commitment to the path of guidance. It promotes a life of purpose and shared prosperity, ensuring that the light of truth continues to guide the human condition toward ultimate success and the pleasure of Allah.
