Du'a al-Dajjal refers to a specific supplication taught by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to be recited at the end of every formal prayer (Salah), before the final greeting. In this prayer, the believer seeks refuge in Allah from four great trials: the punishment of the Grave, the punishment of Hellfire, the trials of life and death, and specifically "the evil trial of the False Messiah (Dajjal)." This constant repetition serves as a spiritual fortification, keeping the believer mindful of the greatest deceptions that will face humanity and reinforcing their reliance on Allah's protection against all forms of spiritual and worldly corruption. The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught this supplication to his companions and encouraged them to recite it regularly. The full supplication is: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hell, and from the punishment of the grave, and from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the trial of the False Messiah" (Muslim). The Prophet emphasized seeking refuge from the Dajjal's trial in particular. He said: "Whoever recites this supplication at the end of every prayer, Allah will protect him from the Dajjal" (Ahmad). For believers, this supplication is a daily reminder of the trials that will precede the Day of Judgment. It keeps them mindful of death, the grave, and the Hereafter. It also specifically protects them from the greatest trial, the Dajjal. The supplication is recited after the Tashahhud and before the final greeting (taslim). It is part of the sunnah of prayer, and reciting it regularly brings great reward and protection. For believers, making this du'a is an act of humility and reliance on Allah. They acknowledge that they cannot protect themselves from these trials; they need Allah's protection. They trust that Allah will answer their supplication and protect them. The du'a also cultivates awareness. The believer who recites it regularly is mindful of death, the grave, and the Hereafter. They prepare for these realities by living righteously and seeking Allah's mercy. The ultimate protection is from Allah, and the believer seeks it through this supplication. They trust that Allah, who hears all prayers, will protect them from the trials of this life and the next, and will grant them safety from the Dajjal and from the punishment of the grave and Hell. The believer recites this du'a with sincerity and hope, trusting in Allah's mercy and protection.
