Ayyam al-Dajjal refers to the "Days of the Antichrist," a period in Islamic eschatology preceding the Day of Judgment when the false messiah (Al-Masih ad-Dajjal) will emerge to deceive humanity. According to Hadith, his stay on earth will be for forty days, one day like a year, one day like a month, one day like a week, and the rest of his days like normal days. This period is described as the greatest trial (fitna) for the believers. Muslims are encouraged to seek refuge in Allah from this trial and to recite the first ten verses of Surah Al-Kahf for protection. The Prophet (peace be upon him) described the length of the Dajjal's stay: "He will stay on earth for forty days: a day like a year, a day like a month, a day like a week, and the rest of his days like your days" (Muslim). The companions asked: "Will one day be like a year? Will we be able to pray in that day?" The Prophet replied: "Estimate the times" (Muslim). This indicates that prayer times should be estimated during the extended days. The Ayyam al-Dajjal will be a time of great trial. The Dajjal will travel the earth, performing false miracles, and deceiving many. The believers will face severe tests of their faith. Those with weak faith will be swayed; those with strong faith will remain steadfast. For believers, the Ayyam al-Dajjal is a reminder to strengthen their faith before this trial comes. They memorize Surah Al-Kahf, which provides protection. They seek refuge in Allah from the Dajjal's trial in every prayer. They learn about the Dajjal from authentic Hadith so they will recognize him when he appears. The extended days of the Dajjal also teach that time is relative. The believer uses the time they have wisely, preparing for the Hereafter. They do not delay repentance or good deeds, knowing that time may be short or may be extended. The Dajjal's days will be a test of patience. The believer remains patient, trusting in Allah's promise that the Dajjal will be defeated. They do not despair, even when the trial is prolonged. The ultimate victory belongs to the believers. Isa (peace be upon him) will descend and kill the Dajjal, ending his deception. The believer awaits that day with hope, while enduring the trial with patience and faith. The Ayyam al-Dajjal will be followed by a period of peace and justice, as Isa rules by the Quran and Sunnah. The believer looks forward to that time, while striving to be among those who remain steadfast through the trial.
