Text Size:
Al-Basir (The All-Seeing) is the Name of Allah that signifies His perfect and absolute sight. Allah sees everything-the visible and the hidden, the large and the microscopic, the past, the present, and the future-all at once without any limitation. He sees the "black ant on a black stone in the darkness of the night." For the believer, knowing that Allah is Al-Basir is the foundation of Ihsan (spiritual excellence), which is "to worship Allah as if you see Him, for if you do not see Him, He certainly sees you." This awareness serves as a moral shield; it discourages a person from committing sins in private and encourages them to perfect their good deeds, knowing that no effort goes unnoticed. It also provides comfort to the oppressed, as they know that Al-Basir sees their suffering and will bring about justice in His perfect timing.
