The Healing of Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him) refers to the miraculous cures granted by Allah through Prophet Isa as signs of his prophethood and evidence of divine power. The Quran records these miracles: "And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [saying], 'I have come to you with a sign from your Lord: that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allah. And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead – by permission of Allah'" (3:49). These healings included restoring sight to the congenitally blind, cleansing those suffering from leprosy,a disease considered incurable and socially isolating, and raising the dead. Each miracle was explicitly performed "by permission of Allah" (bi-idhni Allah), emphasizing that Isa was not acting independently but as a servant and messenger manifesting divine power. These extraordinary acts served multiple purposes: confirming his prophethood to a skeptical people, demonstrating Allah's mercy and power over life and death, and prefiguring the spiritual healing and resurrection that faith brings. For Muslims, the healing miracles of Isa (AS) affirm Allah's absolute sovereignty over nature, the honor bestowed upon His prophets, and the continuity of divine intervention in human affairs. They also remind believers that physical healing, while miraculous, points to the greater spiritual healing through faith and submission to Allah. The miracles of Isa also prefigure the greater miracle of the Quran,a spiritual healing for humanity. The Quran says: "And We send down of the Quran that which is healing and mercy for the believers" (17:82). For believers, the healing of Isa reminds them that Allah is the ultimate Healer (al-Shafi), and that true healing comes from faith in Him.
