Nahrayn al-Dajjal refers to the "Two Rivers of the Dajjal" described in prophetic traditions. The False Messiah will appear to have a river of water and a river of fire; however, his water is actually burning fire, and his fire is actually cool, sweet water. This is one of the many sensory deceptions he will use to test the faith of humanity. It symbolises how falsehood often appears attractive and easy, while the path of truth may seem difficult or painful during times of extreme fitnah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) described this deception: "The Dajjal will have a river of water and a river of fire. Whoever follows him will fall into his fire, and whoever disobeys him will enter his water, which is cool and safe" (Muslim). This Hadith emphasizes that the Dajjal's "miracles" are inversions of reality. What appears to be water is actually fire; what appears to be fire is actually water. The believer who knows this will choose what appears to be fire, knowing it is actually cool water. The Nahrayn al-Dajjal is a test of faith. The Dajjal will use this deception to claim divinity, saying: "I can create rivers of water and fire." Those who are deceived will follow him, thinking they are receiving blessings. Those who know the truth will reject him, even if it means choosing what appears to be fire. For believers, the Nahrayn al-Dajjal is a reminder that the truth is not always what appears attractive. The path of falsehood may seem easy and appealing; the path of truth may seem difficult and painful. The believer follows the truth regardless of appearances. The Dajjal's deception also teaches that true knowledge comes from revelation. The believer knows that the Dajjal's water is actually fire because the Prophet informed them. They trust in the Prophet's words, even when they contradict what they see. The ultimate protection from the Dajjal's deception is knowledge. The believer learns about the Dajjal from authentic Hadith, memorizes Surah Al-Kahf, and seeks refuge in Allah from his trial. They are not deceived by his false miracles because they know the truth. The Dajjal will be defeated, and his deception will end. The believer awaits that day with hope, while remaining steadfast in faith. They trust that Allah's truth will ultimately prevail over all falsehood.
